Les Cités Obscures are mainly, but not only, a remarkable graphic novel series combining the talents of Belgian authors François Schuiten for the drawings and Benoît Peeters for the scenarios. Begun in 1983 with Les Murailles de Samaris, the series now has over a dozen albums and a great many associated items, such as books, images, sculptures, exhibits and other media.
It is a complex universe, and finding one's way in it is a daunting task, even for the authors. Hence this Dictionary, which tries to put things in order, if it is at all possible...
